About The Award

The High School Teacher of the Year Award is presented annually to a high school chemistry teacher within the Columbus Section’s geographic area.

The award recognizes teachers for innovation in classroom and program activities and is presented at the October general section meeting.

Nomination Information

Materials Required

  • Nomination letter from a school administrator
  • Supporting documentation of teaching accomplishments
  • Additional materials highlighting innovative classroom or program activities (optional)

Submission

Nominations are solicited annually from administrators at more than 150 high schools throughout the Columbus Section region.

The recipient is selected by an award committee composed of members of the Columbus Section High School Chemistry Teachers Interest Group and is recognized at the October General Section Meeting.
