About The Award

The Columbus Section Award is presented every two years to an outstanding scientist in the chemical sciences, including chemistry, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, chemical engineering, materials sciences, and science education.

The award recognizes the development of professional careers and the promotion of chemistry, chemists, and engineers within the broader community of the Columbus Section.

The recipient receives a plaque to be held for two years, a medallion, and a monetary award. The recipient also delivers a lecture at the award presentation.

Nomination Information

Materials Required

  • A letter from the nominator
  • Several letters of recommendation from colleagues of the nominee
  • The nominee’s curriculum vitae
  • A list of publications
  • Any other information considered relevant to the nomination

Submission

Nominations are due March 1 of the award year. The awardee is selected in time for the May section meeting.
