About The Award

Each year, the Columbus Section recognizes exceptional student research projects presented at Ohio State Science Day. Awards are presented to students in two grade divisions—Grades 7–9 and Grades 10–12—whose projects demonstrate excellence in scientific investigation and achievement.

The program encourages student interest in chemistry and related sciences while celebrating the next generation of researchers and innovators.

Eligible participants:

  • Students participating in Ohio State Science Day
  • Projects evaluated through the official Science Day judging process
  • Students in Grades 7–9 and Grades 10–12

 

Awards are determined based on project scores and recommendations from the general judging panel.

Award Amounts

  • First Place: $500
  • Second Place: $300
  • Third Place: $200
  • Honorable Mention: $100

 

Recipients also receive certificates recognizing their achievements.

Selection Process

Award recipients are selected from projects presented at the annual Ohio State Science Day competition. Winners are chosen based on scores determined through the official judging process and recommendations from the judging panel.
